SEAT SUPPORTS NATIONAL TYRE SAFETY MONTH
SEAT is backing October’s National Tyre Safety Month with free tyre safety checks at participating dealers nationwide.
The dynamic Spanish brand is backing the month-long push to improve road safety being run by TyreSafe, a not-for-profit organisation created to raise awareness of the dangers of defective and worn tyres.
This October, TyreSafe is highlighting the risks posed by driving on tyres which have insufficient tread depth, making them both illegal and dangerous. SEAT is supporting the safety campaign by offering free tyre tread depth and pressure checks on all makes and models.
SEAT’s highly qualified vehicle technicians will also go on to offer free 32-point full vehicle health checks for those drivers who want to ensure their car is fit for the potentially gruelling winter ahead.
Nigel Griggs, Head of Aftersales at SEAT UK, said of the brand’s participation in National Tyre Safety Month: ‘The simple fact is cars have just four points of contact with the road – their tyres – and, obviously, these need to be in tip-top condition.
‘Driving on defective, excessively worn, or incorrectly inflated tyres is, potentially, highly dangerous. Here at SEAT we’re keen to do anything we can to help drivers recognise and address the risks of dangerous tyres.’
All of SEAT’s 110-plus dealers nationwide have been given the opportunity to support the campaign. Among those putting their weight behind the month-long push for tyre safety is Croyde Motors. Dealer Principal at the north Devon garage, Roy Thackray, said: ‘We’re very pleased to support National Tyre Safety Month by offering free tyre, and vehicle health, checks.
‘The TyreSafe campaign is a great opportunity to remind local drivers of the need to regularly check their car’s tyre tread depth, inflation pressures and general condition.’
National Tyre Safety Month runs throughout October. Look out for the campaign materials at a participating SEAT dealership near you.
