DAILY EXPRESS AWARDS CITROËN’S C3 PICASSO ‘BEST FAMILY CAR’ HONOUR

C3

Citroën’s C3 Picasso has been named ‘Best Family Car’ of 2009 by the Daily Express’ Motoring team.

Seeing off competition from the Skoda Yeti to take the coveted ‘Motoring Oscar’, Citroën’s innovative MPV – the biggest small car on the road – impressed the judges with its compact, purposeful exterior, combined with plentiful internal storage and flexible seating arrangement.

This latest accolade comes at the end of a hugely successful year for the C3 Picasso, adding to five awards already under its belt from the likes of Auto Express, Top Gear and What Diesel.

The Daily Express, said, “The new C3 Picasso is a great family alternative to the new breed of cross-overs. Better still, it’s well built and excellent to drive too. Forget just winning in this category, the C3 Picasso was one of the best cars of 2009, period.”

HAVING A SWINGING TIME WITH THE NEW CITROËN C3

C3 Advert

Citroën’s latest TV advertisement – a fun film created for the launch of the new C3 – features the Company’s latest supermini having a ‘swinging’ time by the sea.

In the 60-second ad, a young couple sneak new C3 past a security guard and into a dockyard where they connect the car’s wheels to the cables of a shipping container crane – and then accelerate up into the air to create a giant swing.

Inside the cabin, the couple experience the extraordinary panoramic view through new C3’s unique Zenith windscreen – from a very original perspective.

New C3 is one of Citroën’s most fuel and CO2 efficient cars, and is the first production Citroën with a model emitting less than 99g/km of CO2. The sensational panoramic Zenith windscreen, which is 36% bigger than a conventional screen on an average five door small car, delivers an all-new motoring experience for drivers and passengers alike.

The TV advert airs from today – 14th December – and new C3 is ‘on sale’ from 15th January 2010, with prices starting at just £10,790 for the entry-level petrol model, rising to £16,140 for the range-topping 1.6HDi 110hp Exclusive.

Citroen Berlingo Voted Van of The Year

Citroen Berlingo Van

Once again, Citroën was all-conquering at this year’s Fleet Van Awards, with Berlingo winning two of the top honours. For the second year in succession, the Citroën Berlingo was voted outright Van of the Year and Small Van of the Year at today’s prestigious awards ceremony in London.

The judging panel, which included major fleet operators and independent van experts, singled out the Berlingo for these top honours against very strong competition. The Citroën Berlingo was the judges’ choice as Van of the Year thanks to its versatility, breadth of range, advanced design and many features unmatched by its rivals. This efficiency-boosting combination, together with its excellent green credentials, once again made Berlingo the judges’ choice as an unbeatable overall fleet package.

In gaining the Fleet Van Awards Small Van of the Year title, the Citroën Berlingo defeated some very strong, well established product. Since its success last year, the Berlingo has strengthened its position as best small van thanks to new models, including the five-seat Crew Van and a unique, enhanced-traction XTR+ model.

Robert Handyside, Citroën’s commercial vehicle operations manager, commented, “Once again, we are delighted with the Berlingo’s success in the 2009 Fleet Van Awards. It is a great honour for Citroën that the Berlingo has been voted Van of the Year and Small Van of the Year for the second year in succession. Today, the Citroën Berlingo is the most versatile small van available in the Berlingo type van segment, offering an unrivalled choice of models to cope with virtually any business transport requirement in this sector. Citroën will continue its pro-active approach in developing the Berlingo and all its LCV’s, to provide businesses with even greener, even more operationally efficient vehicles.”

The new Berlingo offers van operators a choice of two load lengths, three payloads and the availability of single or dual passenger seat. The comprehensive Berlingo range also includes a five-seat Crew Van, an XTR+ enhanced-traction van, 625, 750 and 850kg payload capacities, 75 or 90hp HDi diesel engines, 90hp petrol engines – with the choice of dual fuel (petrol/lpg) capability – X and LX trim levels and a unique platform cab for special bodywork.
