into the evening on the 28th. It was due to the hosting company making a few
upgrades but stumbling upon some unexpected errors. However, all appears to
be now working as normal.

1000 Members and counting
The landmark membership figure was reached on
the evening of the 9th February 2008. BORA TDi Sport signed up to the site
and took the honour of being the 1000th signup to the site.
TDISport will not be stopping here, we will
continue to push the club forward in the right direction and with the help
of our sponsors we are sure it will not be long until the next milestone is
reached. Despite the somewhat specialist topic TDISport continues to grow
and gather pace on a daily basis and with the help of the visitors and
members will will only ever continue.
New website design and forum
We are pleased
to announce that the new look site and forum update has been successfully
completed. Over the past month a lot of work has been carried out to help
improve the look and feel of the TDISport club website. We hope that the
more attractive look will help entice more visitors to sign up for FREE and
make use of our great forum.
Audi R8 Diesel Monster shown in Detroit
Fresh from ripping up the Le Mans racing
rulebook with the diesel-powered R10 TDI, Audi is exploring the possibility
of breaking yet another mould with a road-going TDI super car based on the
R8. The R8 V12 TDI Concept makes its debut at this month’s North American
International Auto Show in Detroit, replacing the production sports car’s
mid-mounted petrol FSI V8 with a 12-cylinder TDI endowed with an incredible
1,000Nm of torque.

Double British Touring Car Champions switch to
turbodiesel power in 2008
Two-car Leon TDI team will see Jason Plato and Darren Turner make diesel
racing debuts
SEAT Sport UK will field a pair of Leon TDIs for Jason Plato and Darren
Turner to race in the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship, as SEAT
becomes the first manufacturer to enter the series with diesel-engined cars.

After the Polo, Passat and Passat Estate, the Golf is the
fourth Volkswagen to wear the new BlueMotion environmental badge on its

a hefty 250 Nm (184 lbs ft) of torque that has already achieved recognition

SEAT is worlds first
manufacturer to put Diesel into WTCC
The next FIA World Touring Car
Championship meeting will be a milestone for both SEAT and the FIA World
Series – for the first time, a manufacturer team will enter a diesel car at
a FIA-organised official World Championship race.
At the event in Sweden on the 28th to 29th July, both Jordi Gené and Yvan
Muller will drive a Leon WTCC car equipped with a 280 PS diesel engine,
which is derived from the 170 PS 2.0-litre TDI featured in the top-selling
Leon FR.

Volkswagen Unveils New Tiguan Compact Model
Volkswagen has revealed the first images of
its Tiguan, the new compact 4x4 which will go on sale in the UK in February
2008, following its world public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in
September. Concept Tiguan made its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show last
year.
