I took advantage of Aaron's offer on
this site a few weeks back for a discount remap with Performance Torque (http://www.p-torque.co.uk)
in Wolverhampton and after driving with the remap for a couple of weeks I
thought I'd give you a mini review...
Well for a start, Performance Torque is run by a nice chap called Will who
was very helpful with all my enquiries, and did a top job on my Ibiza PD130.
It was an evening job so he did it in super-quick time, under 1.5hrs.
Once the remap was complete he came out in the car with me to check it was
to my satisfaction. My car now has about 170bhp and it's a definite
improvement. Apart from the obvious extra acceleration in pretty much any
gear at any speed, the main thing that caught my attention was the turbo
dump valve which you can now hear inside the car with the windows up. It's
subtle but very cool, He could have increased the bhp beyond 170 if I
wanted, although this could have put extra strain on various components. As
it was, I felt the improvements were more than sufficient for my needs and I
drove away happy. On the motorway back home the improvements become even
more apparent. In 6th at 80mph I could still accelerate away without much
strain from the engine, and in 4th at 80mph it screamed up to 120mph in a
matter of seconds. Fun fun fun.
A few days later Will emailed me a file of my original engine map so I can
take the car back down to 130bhp at any time in the future if I wish.
So all in all, an excellent upgrade, well worth the money. I have no problem
at all in recommending it to anyone interested in getting more out of their
car.
