see im in 2 minds what to do with the old motor. seen some very smart vinals today and im thinking about having my roof done black. ive seen a carbon fiber finish , a gloss black finish , and a matt black finish , im totally undecided on which to go for but my heads saying carbon.....am i making a massive mistake.?? admitted its only vinal and can be removed. just i saw a mk4 with it done and it looked very smart. ..so whats the one to go for.?? :?:

A good quality film should look good..

BUT....

The MkV roof has do definate edge as such, so getting a good OE looking edge to the film would be very hard. The only way I can think to stop it looking like a sheet of vinyl stuck to the roof would be to use a thin bead of black silicone down each side just inside the lip of the roof side bars and the roof panel.

Also ensure it is fully behind the windscreen trim at the from or it will lift very quickly.

If it was me i would also want my Mirrors and wheels doing the same colour

In my Eyes silver wheels and a black roof would look gash but as i said thats my opinion

ac ,s photoshop paint job has made my mind up.....aint doing anything , im just worried if i did the wheels , carbon roof , carbon mirrors and i hated it it would have set me back about £700 and then id have to put it all back to how it is now. think id have to see one done first.

Definitely leave it silver! Or, go for the rat look, a bit of salt water, an attack with a disc sander, chuck a bit of paint here and there.......... NOT!
