Sorry, dont know how I didnt see this thread before.

I had my A4 remapped by VSport. Have they gone and a new company in, or is it simply a name change with the same people? I am aware that there are a few people who arent happy with their work on various local forums and allegations flying about, but speaking from personal experience I was happy with their work. Custom map written and loaded, told to try it and if I wanted it altering to let them know. They spent a while listening to what I wanted, and did a good job in achieving it (130 sport got 172.6bhp and 300lb/ft torque with a nice wide flat torque curve)

Cheers bud - good to hear some positive info about them. They did change their name & there's various stuff on the net saying they are the same people :?

I emailed them about a couple of things in December but they never replied so it's their loss

Will probably do RS Tuning when the job situation improves :(

I used PD tuning for a rolling road session to see what my car was running,i thought the guys there were very helpful and gave me some good advise,i have not used them for a remap so cannot comment on their maps.
There is a Company in Dragonville nr Durham called Turbo Pacs they do remaps but they are expensive.
A stage1 is at least £600 which seems about £200 more than most. http://www.turbopacs.com/

 £600  Thats double what V sport charged me, and a lot more than CCtuning are asking for to do my Saab.

Very expensive!!!
We charge between £280-£300 depending on how far we travel, only latest bmw's/Audi's etc are more expensive....:)

i know the guy was really wooly when it came to answering my question will i get proof of gains after a remap,he had a rolling road on his premises,so its not like he couldn't.
He must do a fair bit of business though cos he is still trading, but £599 is mental for some cars he charges £799.
I was quoted £350 to remap my Colt by a guy down south who has done loads Smart ForFour CDI's but its same 1.5 engine and ecu as mine,he had seen gains of 40bhp & 50ft lb torque which is good from an engine that only had 94bhp & 155ft lb to start with however these cars had better airfilters and better backboxes.

On the colt we get 25bhp/45nm torque. would prob be worth doing a decat and back box to gain a bit more...:)
Just depends how far you want to go as there's always more you can do, bigger intercooler/hybrid turbo etc..

its just dead money going down the turbo/intercooler route though cos realistically i would be better off probably buying a car with more power and tuning potential to start with.

true but i had the CZT colt before the Diesel Colt so i am always gonna feel down on power and thrills, but economy is king.
I think my car is ok but to be honest i need something bigger ie family size car not for kids, but for bike's dogs etc.
What cars from your experience are the most reliable and best to tune up :)

Thanks for that Guy - just had a look at their site.

Out of interest do you know if they write their own maps or use someone else to do that.

Hi nick,
I'm a bmw addict, I find them no more expensive to service and maintain than the focus i used to run, and a big bonus is rear wheel drive..:)
Far better than any front wheel drive car and they make some amazing engines.
But it all depends on what you like and what your budget is..:)
